Practitioner Bio: Wendy Chiu, ND

Wendy's passion for naturopathic medicine stems back to her childhood. As a child, she loved to draw the picture of a little hut. The hut was built with straw, surrounded by apple trees and a wooden fence. Up high in the sky, birds were flying next to the clouds.

Wendy graduated from the University of Waterloo and received her Honours Bachelor degree of Mathematics, majoring in computer science. After, she worked in many financial institutions including the Toronto Stock Exchange, banks and brokerage firms on Bay and Wall Streets. She saw office people living a stressful lifestyle and developing office ailments as a result. Still inspired by the little hut, she decided to further her study in naturopathic medicine in order to promote healthy living in the modern era.

Wendy graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine with the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine designation. She is licensed with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapies – Naturopathy, and is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She applied her Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture and herbal medicine skills in treating mental and emotional patients at the Queen West Community Health Centre, and has gained many success stories.

The focus of Wendy’s practice is office ailments, women’s health and geriatrics. She enjoys treating all conditions with special interest in migraines, musculoskeletal pain, stress and emotional issues, skin sensitivities, dysmenorrhea, infertility, arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal conditions. While Wendy specializes in TCM, acupuncture and herbal medicine, she integrates other modalities such as homeopathic medicine, nutraceuticals, nutritional therapy, physical medicine, and cupping in her treatment protocols as well.

Wendy’s treatment philosophy is to strengthen the innate power of the body so that harmony can be restored for disease prevention and healing.
